Reviews & Ratings

Online water heater reviews are increasingly important for consumer decisions, yet we still know little about how reviews are generated in the first place. In an effort to gather more reviews, many websites encourage user interactions such as allowing one user to subscribe to another. Do these interactions actually facilitate the generation of accurate water heater reviews? More importantly, what kind of reviews do such interactions induce?

We study these questions and others, using data from two of the largest water heater review websites where users can subscribe to one another. By applying both consumer data and service contractor data, such as replacement age and repair history we find that as consumers and service contractors become more reliable, they produce more realistic reviews, being objective or positive, however, their numeric ratings also systematically change and become more relative and more varied. Such trade-off has not been previously documented accurately, and has important implications for both traditional water heaters, tankless and specialty type reviews.

WATER HEATER REVIEW CATEGORIES

Each water heater brand & model are reviewed in 9 categories and given up to 3 point score in each category, highest score wins. 27 point maximum.

VALLEJO, Calif. (BCN) — Five people were being treated at a hospital on Sunday afternoon, after a faulty water heater set off the family’s carbon monoxide alarm in Vallejo, California

Firefighters responded to a 911 call at 1:30 p.m. from an apartment in the 100 block of Maher Court. They found one adult and four juveniles feeling ill from what turned out to be a clogged gas flue vent in a water heater, said Vallejo Fire Department Battalion Chief Cliff Campbell.

Heatworks Technology has done it. Developing a new ohmic array technology and is now available for purchase. What is it? Electric tankless water heaters that provide endless hot water on-demand for homes. No metal heating elements. No annual maintenance. No energy efficiency loss.

The units are powered by ohmic array technology, and the “MODEL 3” is the only water heater in the world to use ohmic array technology instead of metal heating elements that rust and scale. This technology will save you time, money, and the planet's resources.

Energy-efficient for life. The MODEL 3 is highly efficient because it only uses power when hot water is needed. And because there are no metal heating elements that can scale, there is never a loss of energy efficiency.

Introduction and U.S. Market Factors

Source, National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Water heating is the second-largest energy use in U.S. homes after space conditioning, accounting for 20% of the total energy consumed, or 2.12 quads annually. Most U.S. homes use either natural gas or electric storage water heaters, but many higher efficiency water heating options are available. These include tankless water heaters, condensing storage water heaters, heat pump water heaters (HPWHs), and solar water heaters. All these technologies could provide energy savings to homeowners.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

KCRA, June 2nd, 2021

In a 7-2 vote, the Sacramento City Council this week approved an ordinance requiring all new homes and commercial buildings to run entirely on electricity.

Mayor Darrell Steinberg says the ordinance is designed to slow climate change by eliminating natural gas and propane from new construction.

The ordinance would be phased in over a couple years.

Starting in 2023, any new low-rise buildings will have to be all-electric. Any new structure above four stories will have to be all-electric by 2026.

The ordinance does not affect existing buildings and businesses, just new construction.

Opponents of the measure previously told KCRA 3 the move will prevent new restaurants that prepare dishes with natural gas from entering the market.
